Hambly Studios Tutorial: Dinner Party Invite

Hello! Here’s a tutorial I came up with for Hambly Studios! Today, we’re going to make a dinner party invite! These are SUPER easy to make and they fit into regular A2 envelopes!

Here’s what you’ll need:

Materials: Hambly Kraft Chandelier Stickers, 3 1.75″ x 4″ strips of Hambly Small Circles Paper, 3 printed invitations 4.25″ x 11″, Scoring Tool, various rhinestones, adhesive, stamp & ink

1. Score invitation at 2.25″ and 6 5/8″. Make sure your text is printed between these margins. I used Learning Curve Pro and Printed Clearly fonts.

2. Apply adhesive on top portion of small circles paper strip.

3. Adhere sticker to invitation.

4. Add rhinestones above chandelier sticker.

5. Stamp sentiment under sticker. I used a Clear & Simple Stamps “Dinner” stamp from the Gourmet Darling stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed this tutorial!

Thanks for dropping by 🙂

Sketchy Sunday {TG005}

Happy Sunday!

If you don’t know already, I am here at CHA in Los Angeles with Lawn Fawn doing Make n Takes! Be sure to check out my Winter CHA 2011 findings section!

Here is this week’s sketch!

Just so you know, I will be choosing my favorites at the end of the month (in this case February 5th) to be highlighted! AND, I will randomly choose one participant to win a gift certificate to one of our favorite crafty stores!

If you play along, use the sketch however you see fit~It’s okay to make changes! Also, please use keyword TG005 if you upload to an online gallery. Please link to me if you use the sketch~I comment on all the cards!

Here’s the card the sketch is based off of:

I love this new set, Made With Love,  from Hero Arts and see myself using it A TON! I love how some easy heat embossing can make something wow! Oh, and if you’re heat embossing on textured cardstock (like I did), just use your white gel pen to fix boo-boos 🙂

Materials: Hero Arts stamps (Made With Love), Pink Paislee papers (Sweetness), Coredinations Cardstock, Bazzill Cardstock, PTI ribbon, misc. button, White EP, white gel pen, EK Success corner rounder

Be sure to have all your entries in for this first round before the 5th, so that you can have a chance to win the gift certificate and an opportunity to have your card featured!

Inspired by Jill Foster: Day 5

Welcome to day 5, the final day, of my collaboration with Jill!

For today, Jill has generously provided me with a cool Digital Image from Tiffany’s Doodles!

I used the super cute Umbrella Hearts Image paired with some altered chip art! I used the Melody Ross Chip Art Tool to create my heart! LOVE LOVE LOVE that new tool!

Materials: Tiffany’s Doodles Umbrella Hearts, Heart Chipboard, Melody Ross Chip Art Tool, Claudine Hellmuth Studio Paints, Copic Markers, Memento Ink, Neenah and PTI cardstock

Inspired by Jill Foster: Day 4

Welcome to Day 4 of my collaboration with Jill!

For today, we have challenged each other to use our  colored pencils! Jill is MASTERFUL with the medium.

Ever since my discovery of Copic Markers, my Prismacolor Pencils & Gamsols have been collecting dust- a lot of dust! I spent enough money on them, so I might as well use them and I love my results!

Materials: Josephinekimberling for Impress Rubber Stamps (Sailboat image & sentiment), Neenah cardstock, Bazzill cardstock, PTI cardstock, Prismacolor pencils, MFT Jumbo Scallop Die, Machine stitching

Inspired by Jill Foster: Day 3

Welcome to day 3 of my collaboration with Jill!

Today, we have challenged each other to a color inspiration challenge! In my opinion, the best source for color combinations is from one of my all-time favorite issues of Paper Crafts Magazine….

Click to purchase!

We decided to go with the color combination on the cover, which can be found on pages 20-21.

Here’s my Clean & Striking (CAS) card for the color combination. I struggled BIG time with this color combination and while I was struggling I remembered exactly why I didn’t submit anything for this color combination 😉

I kept it one-layer because often times I find myself adding layers and embellishments when I’m in a rut. SO, I challenged myself to a one-layer card with minimal supplies! I love the result!

What do you do when you find yourself in a card rut? Do you throw it away, pile on the layers, redesign? I wanna know!

This card was completely inspired by Jill‘s famous use of Distress Inks! I even used her favorite, Brushed Corduroy! The Hero Arts Friend Definition is also a favorite of Jill‘s! For my “Tiffany Spin”, I used my personal favorite Lawn Fawn Stamp Sets, Bannerific and Sophie’s Sentiments!

Materials: Hero Arts Friend Definition, Lawn Fawn Stamps (Bannerific and Sophie’s Sentiments), Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Peeled Paint, Brushed Corduroy), October Afternoon patterned paper, Tim Holtz Accouturement button, Memento Ink

Inspired by Jill Foster

Welcome to the first day of my collaboration week with the UBER talented Jill Foster!

Every day this week, Jill and I will be using the same product, stamps, sketch, color scheme, or technique and putting our own spin on it! Jill is an incredible card-maker and is one of my top-5 favorites!

For our creations today, we both used Lawn Fawn’s Petite Florals and the Hero Arts Envelope Pattern

I stamped the Petite Floral images twice. Then I colored the flowers with copics and adhered them over their twinsies. I added an Impress flower sequin and pearl to the main flower for some dimension. For the border strip, I stamped the envelope pattern in black ink, trimmed a piece of it, colored it with copics, and then adhered it. I added a bit of burlap for some added dimension.

Be sure to check out what Jill has in store for ya! I highly recommend you subscribe to her blog as she never fails to inspire!

Sketchy Sunday {TG003}

Happy Sunday!

I have an “Impress All-night Stamp Night” hangover at the moment and must make a pot of coffee STAT! If you ever get the chance to go to all-night crop, I totally recommend it! Just bring a few things to work on or your copics and some stamped images. I love the exchange of ideas at these types of gatherings, LOVE the food, and LOVE meeting new stampy friends!

Here is this week’s sketch!

I know, I know… My button is neked! Well I like my buttons anyway I can have them and enjoy them Au Natural 😉

Here, I used the Scalloped Polkadot from Memory Box and the French Writing with Butterfly from Hero Arts! The sentiment is from Clear and Simple Stamps Limited Edition set!

Shannon’s Sentiments {Scrappy Challenge}

Happy Saturday!!!

It’s another week of Shannon’s Sentiments fun! Did you enjoy the sketch challenge? Well this week it’s all about….

THE SCRAPPIN’! This weeks challenge is to create any sort of scrapping project: hybrid, mini album, layout, 1-pager, 2 pager, 6×6-ANYTHING! Be sure to post a link to your creation on the Shannon’s Sentiments Blog!

This week, I used “Shout Out“:

1. I printed the banner on a 12×12 piece of cardstock so that it would fit the bottom border of my combined photos.

2.Then I printed it again on white cardstock, added the paint splatter and Maya mist, and cut out individual triangles.

3. Before adhering the triangle pieces with foam tape, I added a strand of ribbon with sections tied off with Divine Twine!

4. Then I adhered the thickers 🙂 EASY PEASY

I LOVE DIGITAL STAMPS for this very reason! You can resize them to fit ANY project!

Here, I used my Coluzzle to cut a circle out of the matted photos to fit a smaller splattered paint circle with the year 2011!

Are you up for the challenge? To create something scrappy!!!? I HOPE SO!
