Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week Day 3: Making Frosty Friends

Good Evening or should I say, “Thumpity-thump-thump, Thumpity-thump-thump, look at frosty go!” Frosty The Snowman was my ABSOLUTE favorite Christmas movie as a kid and it still is!

Today, the Lawn Fawn Design Team is showcasing Making Frosty Friends, a stamp set you will love almost as much as your kids or students 🙂 As my kids watched me design my treat pail, they BEGGED for stamped images to color, cut, and piece together. I hope you’ll check out the rest of the team:

Here’s how I made my pail (you should totally include the kids):

1. Stamp snowman border onto a piece of 12″ x 12″ cardstock using the bottom edge as a guide and masking the snowman as needed. (I save all my masks in the stamp set sleeve.)

2. Stamp Snowman Accessories (hat, scarf, mittens, bird, etc.) onto another sheet of cardstock, color, and cut.

3. Color the Snowmen strip, trim, and adhere to strip of patterned paper (3″ x 12″).

4. Adhere accessories to the middle snowman (I used my Xyron Create-A-Sticker) and add liquid applique & stickles (heat-set). THIS IS WHERE THE KIDS CAN HAVE FUN ACCESSORIZING!!!!

5. Adhere entire strip onto strip of patterned paper (4″ x 12″), adhere to pail using scor-tape (you may need to cut circles for the handle), and decorate lid as desired!

***My kids helped me accessorize several snowmen and they had a blast! They’re all about the coloring, cutting, and pasting 🙂

And those cookies…

There were 17 cookies in this pail, but we ended up with 2 (just enough for the photo op). These Coconut Snowballs are AMAZING! My kids had fun helping me roll and dip them too!

Thanks so much for dropping by!

This year I’ll be designing a whole bunch of photo Christmas cards for my friends and family! Usually I include the photo inside of the card, but I really want to try something easy and still handmade 🙂 Here’s an idea to get those Christmas card juices flowing because it’s a mere 3 months away! Eeeeps! I commend all of you that budget for Christmas throughout the year and more kudos to those of you that get your Christmas shopping done the year before!!!

For the card, I paper pieced the ornaments with My Mind’s Eye Stella & Rose patterned paper. The ornaments are heat embossed with gold or navy embossing powder and then colored using Faber-Castell’s Art Grip Colored Pencils and a Gold PITT Artist Pen. I used a circle die to cut the photo and the gold photo mat.

Thanks for dropping by!

Materials: Lawn Fawn Stamps (Ornate Ornaments, Sally’s ABCs), My Mind’s Eye Paper (Stell & Rose), Faber-Castell’s Design Memory Craft Art Grip Colored Pencils, Scarlet Red Stamper’s Big Brush Marker, & Gold PITT Artist Pen, Gold & Navy Embossing Powder (Zing!), Versamark Dazzle Ink, Neenah Cardstock, My Mind’s Eye Trim, Bazzil cardstock (gold), EK Success Corner Rounder Punch (jumbo)

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week, Day One: Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum

Hello Everyone!!!

I know, long time no see 🙂 It’s been back-to-school/hubby’s gone for 2 months week at The Johnson House! But, I’m back with something fantabulous, an ornament featuring Lawn Fawn’s Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum stamp set!

I hope you’ll check out the rest of the Design Team and give a warm welcome to the talented Chari Moss:

Here are some details about the ornament:

1. Fill the ornament with DecoArt’s Glistening Snow-Tex.

2. Heat emboss sentiment to the transparency using Versamark Ink and Zing! Embossing Powder.

3. Use a circle die (Lifestyle Crafts Nested Circles) to cut a transparency circle, paper piece the tree (My Mind’s Eye 12 Days of Christmas), add the popcorn garland (inkessentials white gel pen), and adhere the tree to the transparency using Zip Dry.

4. Stamp and color images (Pa-Rum-Pa-Pum-Pum). Add Mod Podge’s Dimensional Magic, set to dry.

5. Once the Glistening Snow-Tex has stiffened a bit, add images to create scene with the transparency in the far back of the ornament.

EASY PEASY!!! And, all the materials I used are archival and acid-free, so it will last a lifetime.

Thanks so much for stopping by,
