Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Baby Love

Hello Blogosphere!

Have you seen the AWESOME inspiration from the Design Team this week?! How about the giveaways on The Lawn Fawn Blog? You must check out the blog!

This is my layout featuring papers from The Bright Side Collection! Lawn Fawn’s very OWN scrapbooking paper collection! I used all 12x12s…

I used “Jump For Joy” paper to die cut my flowers. Then, I used a stiff paint brush to apply Mod Podge to the edges of some of the blooms before applying the German Glitter! The title was created by using The Bright Side Collection Alphabet Stickers, a doily, puffy heart sticker, and some sewing!

Awwww, aren’t these two precious? That’s mine on the left and “the Mack Truck” on the right 😉 I cut long paper flags to create the border and went over the paper with sand paper and white pigment ink to antique it a little!

Thanks so much for dropping by 🙂

CupCards To Go April Kit: Sweetcakes

Good Morning!!!

It’s here, it’s here!!! Another awesome card kit from CupCards To Go! I personally, LOVED working with this kit! It’s perfect for all those birthday cards you’ll be needing this Spring and Summer.

Here are some of my creations:

I just LOVE making this cupcake stand! I downloaded the file HERE from Peacefully Folding. I used my Sizzix eClips machine with the Rockin Jane Cartridge to create a number 1 window for my clean and simple birthday card!

How about this cool cupcake clip!!!? I created the circle window using Sizzix Circle Framelits & my Vagabond!

Ya got me! I’m in love with window cards 🙂 I used the Scallop Oval Framelits Dies and my Vagabond to create the card. For the mini favor/gift wrap, I used the Sizzix eClips machine with the Albums, Bags, and Boxes Cartridge.

Are you a ribbon fan? The kits always include various strands of lovely ribbons! I used my ribbons to create a gift bow!

I hope you enjoyed viewing some of my creations using the CupCards To Go April Kit!

Operation Write Home {Make ’em Laugh}

Good Morning everyone!

Today marks the day for the Operation Write Home Make ’em Laugh Blog Hop! This cause is very near and dear to my heart as they coordinate massive card drives to send blank cards to the troops. The troops then send these cards to their loved ones afar!

My story:

I am an Army Brat and now I’m an Army Wife. Often times we think of the effects that deployments have on the spouse or on the family as a whole and we often forget how it’s affected our children as individuals and as people.

Meanwhile, we continue to fight the longest war America’s seen and within that timeframe, studies have shown that our Army Brats are more resilient. But, what does that mean? To me, that means our children are growing up faster- maturing faster. Our children are fighting their own war back home struggling with disjointed families and the real mature emotions that fester as a result. There are children whose father or mother have been absent the majority of their lives.
I strongly believe, our Army Brats need a good laugh! I remember talking to my Dad while he was away. It was always the serious stuff, “how are you treating your mom, how is school, how is orchestra”? All this seriousness and all this doom and gloom whenever we had a chance to communicate! This Make ‘Em Laugh theme is just what the doctor ordered! So, let’s band together and encourage more laughs within the Army Family! The family that laughs together stays together! Thank you Operation Write Home for hosting this cause!
Here’s my funny card with a special child in mind!

The Outside reads, “What do you call a pig with no clothes”?

The Inside reads, “streaky bacon”.

I used the Sizzix Scallop Circle 3-D Pop-up Bigz Die to arrange the scene on the inside! I ADORE Karen Burniston’s Pop-up dies, don’t you!? I used the Sizzix Circle Framelits Die Set on the front.

Then I used a ton of Lawn Fawn Stamps including Critters on the Farm (barn, pig, haystack), Claire’s ABCs (small font), Stay Tuned (microphone), Bon Voyage (clouds, dashed line), Quinn’s ABCs (large font), and Partly Cloudy (solid clouds). The Papers are from Lawn Fawn’s Bright Side Collection!

Please check out the Operation Write Home creative blog for links to more funny projects!

Happy Birthday!

Hello Blogosphere!

Man, does it feel good to get back into the crafting groove 🙂

Today, myself and some friends helped celebrate a special gal’s birthday! We wanted to make it extra special since her hubby is off fighting the fight (sigh*).

I used various washi tapes to create the mini banner: Hambly Studios Teal Hearts, Pink Stripes. The sequins were a sweet gift from Katrina from Pugly Pixel! She even has sequin brushes for photoshop in her ala carte store! I kept the design quite simple and added some lovely texture on the pink panel using a Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folders: Birds, Flowers, & Branches. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Bake Me A Cake.

We even had Cake Pops (thank you Starbucks):

I used the same tapes from the card, but added some green dots and tan. The container is from the dollar store, filled with floral foam, and topped with easter grass!

Hope you enjoyed this sneak peek into my friend’s birthday gathering 🙂

Karwel Baby Shower: The Invitations

Good morning everyone!

I have something very special to share with you today! I’ve been planning a good friend’s baby shower (she’s about to have baby boy #2) and these are her invitations!

My #1 tip for making invitations. Make them flat! I used stickles and machine stitching to embellish these!

I used the following fonts:

Plaid, Witched, Space Shop

I hope you enjoyed these! Throughout the month, I’ll be sharing more tips, tricks, and tutorials.

Sizzix Design Team Announcement {YAY}

Good Morning!!!!! I have HUGE news to share! I’ve been asked to join the inaugural Sizzix Design Team!!!!!! This is a HUGE dream come true! I always write down my goals and say them out loud to tell the universe I’m ready for ’em…lol! I know it sounds cheesy, but that’s just how I roll 😉

I’ll be joined by an awesome and diverse group of ladies:

So to celebrate, I’ve created a card using my favorite pop-up dies designed by Karen Burniston (Sizzix Bigz Die- Card- Scallop Circle 3-D Pop-up):

I used Lawn Fawn’s Critters Ever After to create the fantasy elements of my “make a wish” card! The papers are from the Bright Side Collection and YES, the ray background is completely hand-cut (hence, the imperfections, lol)!

Additional Materials: Sizzix Bigz Die- Card- Scallop Circle 3-D Pop-up , Lawn Fawn Stamps (Bon Voyage, Bannerific, Smitty’s ABCs, Happily Ever After, love n breakfast, Critters Ever After)

Be sure to check out the official announcement! I can’t wait to share more Sizzix projects with you throughout the year! I’ll be getting electric with my Vagabond and eClips die-cutting machines!
Thanks so much for dropping by!
