Sizzix Die-cutting FUN!

Hello crafty friends!!!!

Today is a special day for the Sizzix Design Team! We are sharing various products using dies designed by sweet sweet sweet Eileen Hull! For my party centerpiece, I used the Sizzix Create-a-Flower Bow die by Eileen Hull along with my Sizzix Vagabond!

I used various patterned papers and felt in rainbow colors. The steel-rule dies that Eileen Hull designs are perfect for all sorts of materials & cut my felt like BUTTAH BABY!

I used a straight pin to hold together all the petals, stuck the straight pin through a plastic straw, followed up by a foam dimensional to hold it in place, and then used green florist foam to stick each flower in. I die-cut green cardstock using the smallest petal to create my leaves & just added green rhinestones to mask the holes 😉

The turquoise bin is from The Dollar General (love!) as well as the green grass filling and the green foam! This is VERY inexpensive to create! To make it extra special, I create a washi tape banner in the rainbow spectrum and hung it in the front of the display!

Thanks for dropping by! Be sure to check out the rest of the DT creations at the Sizzix Blog! There’s a special giveaway!

Here’s the inside… BRACE yourself:

DIY Design Memory Craft Watercolor Wedding Invitations & Save the Dates

‘Tis the season….for weddings!!!

If you’re a regular DIYer, I’m certain you’ve been hit up this season to design some invitations of some sort. Be it wedding, baby shower, birthday, etc.! For these modern and playful DIY wedding invitations with matching magnetic save the dates, I was inspired by all things summer: water, bright hues, playfulness, & fun!

To begin:

I used the following fonts: Carpe Diem, Learning Curve, & Print Clearly. I printed these 4×6 invitations on Strathmore watercolor paper, cold press. Then I used my Faber-Castell Design Memory Craft Blue/Green Art Grip Aquarelle watercolor pencils to fill in the letters in an hombre pattern. Then, I framed the sides with color as well!

Taking a waterbrush or paintbrush, begin to blend the pigment from the pencils. The color is permanent once it’s dry, so work quickly! I love the little mistakes as they add to the watercolor effect of the invitation!

Repeat the process with your save the dates (3″ x 2″) and adhere them to some sticky-back magnetic sheets! Of course, don’t forget to add little strips of your favorite washi tapes for an added artsy feel 🙂

Kelly’s Babyshower: The Big Day for a Little Man

Remember these invites?

Well, after a tragic loss and a miraculous birth, Zene showered us with his presence at his very own baby shower!

Here are the details:

Entry Table: I created 2 papercrafted curio shelfs (1 for mama & 1 for papa), a cute hanging name sign, teabag favors, and an album! I used my Sizzix eClips to cut everything and it was fabulous!!!! I didn’t have to change mats or switch to a new blade not-a-once! files I used:

Attic Treasures (Curio Boxes), Ryan’s Playdate (Name Sign)

Here’s a little close-up of the album! I used October Afternoon’s Rocket-Age Papers & Embellishments for all the decor!

Here are the teabag favors I created which I displayed in a little butter basket with a die-cut “THANKS” in front. I used Kelly-Marie’s tutorial HERE. The mini tags cut perfectly using my Sizzix eClips with eCAL! Even the little holes cut perfectly 🙂

Here’s the diaper cake and Advice box which were on the gift table! The advice box contains little index cards for guests to write their parenting advice on and includes room for baby shower photos! files used:

Tea For You and Me (Advice Box/teabox/recipe box)

Here’s a closer look at the Advice Box!

Also, on the gift table I placed the prizes for the games with a dry erase board 🙂 The tags are stickered and stamped (Lawn Fawn’s Harold’s ABCs)! The twine is thick and is from May Arts!

Here is the cupcake tree I put together using die-cut cupcake wrappers from my Sizzix eClips. I was amazed at the little details the cutter managed to cut with no issues! files used:

Family Party Cupcake Wrappers (Space Lovers)

Above the food table were these lantern planets! I used tissue paper, foil, and star garland to alter lanters into planets!

Strung along the food table was a special “ZENE” banner! I used the Sizzix eClips to cut each letter with coordinating mat!

At the beverage station were altered Balls Mason Jars. I used my crop-a-dial to affix an eyelet for the straws. Unfortunately, I have to find skinnier straws than the one pictured above. I also die-cut the drink umbrellas, but using my Sizzix Vagabond!

Here’s a fun way to display the baby without tiring Mom’s arms 😉

I absolutely loved hostessing this baby shower!!! Here’s the baby announcement I put together for the mama-to-be! We even had a spontaneous photo session with Zene:

Thanks so much for dropping by! I hope I’ve inspired you to personalize your future parties 🙂
