Happy Halloween

It’s my favorite time of the year!

There’s nothing like seeing all the excitement! I love the spooky, the goofy, the young, and the young at heart!

If you’re anywhere near my neck-of-the-woods, stop by for a treat 🙂

My wreath was made out of coffee filters and decorated with some May Arts ribbon, Pink Paislee tinsel ribbon, and some die-cuts (Sizzix Halloween Shadows Tim Holtz Alterations). I can take off the Halloween portion to easily convert it for another holiday…like Thanksgiving!

It was even easier to put together!

1. Create the coffee filter wreath. I used the following tutorial by The Frugal Homemaker.

2. Next, die cut the Halloween Shadows Dies with black textured cardstock and patterned paper that matches your decor. I layered the patterned paper “trick or treat” with a black cardstock “trick or treat”.

3. Choose a wide ribbon, such as this may arts wired burlap ribbon, to create a cascading ribbon along the side. Adhere the valleys of the folds with a glue dot.

4. Now, just take the Pink Paislee Tinsel Ribbon or any other tinsel garland, and weave it in and out of the cascading burlap ribbon.

5. Create a decorative bow from the die-cut trick-or-treaters, a bow made from the black & ivory wide striped ribbon, and the layered “trick or treat” sentiment.

5. Adhere layers to the wreath with a glue dot and use a T-pin to combine all the layers.

6. Last, just adhere your two small die-cut bats to the top portion of the burlap ribbon.

I used easy to remove adhesives so that I can repurpose the wreath for Thanksgiving & Christmas!

Thanks for stopping by!

*New* Basic Grey Nordic Holiday Sizzix Dies!

Here’s a Mod layout I created with Christmas pictures from last year 🙂 I was farrrrrr too preggo to get any scrapbooking done! This layout uses some fun new Basic Grey Nordic Holiday Dies- Bookplate, Tags, and Happy Holiday dies. Here’s a screenshot:

Here’s a tutorial on how I created my mod layout!

I always start off by positioning all the elements once they’ve been die-cut and trimmed. I used a corner rounder to round of one corner of each of the photos and the Happy Holiday. I did this to match the Basic Grey paper lace!

Cutting Sandwiches:

The Happy Holiday Sizzlit (cutting platform, cutting plate, sizzlit die, paper, cutting plate)

The Bookplate and Tags Die (cutting plate, paper, cutting plate)

Then, I added white contrasting cardstock to the back of the Happy Holiday to add more dimension.

Using the Sizzix eClips and eCAL, cut out little inverted squares smaller than the inverted squares on the Basic Grey paper lace. I used Bazzill smoothies cardstock on the default cutting settings.

Now, you can use foam dimensionals to adhere the die-cut inverted squares to the center of each inverted square on the white paper lace. I love the 3L 3D foam squares because they’re less fussy than most.

Die-cut the Bookplates & Tags twice using patterned paper and an overlay for some layered dimension! I added little bows to mine at the top to create an ornament effect! Adhere finished elements on top of the finished paper lace.

Arranging the elements using the rule of thirds really balances the space and draws attention to the photos!

I hope you enjoyed viewing these new products and this short tutorial 🙂

See you soon,
