Monthly Archives: March 2011

Giveaway {and other news}

March is almost over and tomorrow will be April Fool’s Day!

My oldest will be 5…..FIVE! The joke is on me 😉

So, besides overcoming Croup, Pneumonia, and a laundry list of upper respiratory crud, a lot has been going on in my crafty life!

Here are two sneak peeks of my publications on the iPhone App from Clear and Simple Stamps:

In Lawn Fawn news, Kelly has asked me to take the role as Design Team Coordinator! I am so honored and am happy to be of service! Thank you Lawn Fawn 🙂

Now, this next thing is pretty darn cool (because I’m a dork):

Two Peas Newsletter

My card was the Featured Project in this last Two Peas Newsletter!!!!!!! How rad is that!? It’s the card in the middle!

To that end….

I’m hosting a little giveaway!

I have Guest Blogger Post over at the Design Memory Craft Blog and would love it if you guys left me some love! But that’s not required 😉

Just leave a comment on this post by April 6th 9PM PST and I’ll draw 2 winners on April 7th!

Each winner will receive a small sampling of Faber-Castell products:

Stamper’s Big Brush Markers in Pale Geranium Lake 121, Deep Scarlet Red 219, Black 199, cobalt blue 143, an art grip aquarelle pencil, and 2 PITT Pastels.

Like I said, it’s a small rather random sampling of the products, but fun no less!

Thanks for dropping by!

Watercolor Fun

Good Morning Blogosphere!

I’m happy to report that the boys are 100% better! We went to a birthday party this weekend, played with play-doh, painted, and baked up a storm! We are on the road to a healthy recovery 🙂 Here’s a card I made just having fun with some Faber-Castell Gelatos! First I sprayed the stamp with some water, then I applied the gelatos directly to the stamp, stamped 3 times in a row for generational stamping, and finished with a sweet sentiment. The sentiment was inked up with the Faber-Castell Big Brush Marker in black for some permanent action and I added some ink splatter.

Materials: Faber-Castell Gelatos, Faber-Castell Stamper’s Big Brush Marker (Black), Neenah Cardstock, Unity Stamp, Hero Arts Stamp (Made With Love), Prima Pearls, Baker’s Twine

Hope ya like it!

Sketchy Sunday {TG013}

Hello Blogosphere!

How have your weekends been? Mine has been a good mix of fun and busy 🙂

Just so you know, I will be choosing my favorites at the end of April to be highlighted! AND, I will randomly choose one participant to win a gift certificate to one of our favorite crafty stores! Other than that, feel free to link up your creations any time because there are no deadlines!

If you play along, use the sketch however you see fit~It’s okay to make changes! Also, please use keyword TG013 if you upload to an online gallery. Please link to me if you use the sketch~I comment on all the cards!

Here’s my card:

I used Lawn Fawn’s mini stamp set celebrating their 1 year anniversary! It’s free with any $50 purchase at Lawnfawn.com! I had some fun with my neglected Memento markers to get a cool tie-dye look! Then I stamped the sentiment and a row of stars and added glossy accents to the stars. The fun twine is from Ryann’s Etsy Shop!

Materials: Kraft Cardstock (Paper Zone), Lawn Fawn Stamps (Anniversary Set, Bake Me A Cake), Divine Twine, Glossy Accents, Making Memories Tag Maker, Clear and Simple Stamps Ribbon

Thanks for dropping by! I look forward to seeing all of your creations 🙂

Weekend {in review}

In a week, the boy who took this picture will be 5… Where has the time gone? He’s been across the country twice, survived 6 moves (if you count the time in my tummy), and has grown from a colicky infant into an inquisitive little man.

This morning’s to do list: Stove-top Cappuccino, Recent Post News, Clean Paint Brushes, Stay in Robe, Play around with iPhone Fisheye and Macro Lenses. Feel young and old simultaneously. (Taken with iPhone fisheye lens attachment with Hipstamatic’s The Mission HipstaPak.)

Fisheye Lens, minus the Hipstamatic effects.

Cappuccino: The stuff my morning’s made of. (Taken with iPhone Macro Lens attachment using Instagram’s Early Bird filter)

Homemade Gift Wrapping: The reason why I had to wash off paint brushes this morning. The boys create painted hearts using the bent ends of toilet paper rolls, CJ wrote a special message on a tag for its recipient, and I wrapped it all up nice and pretty using ribbon, primas, and handmade flowers. (Taken with Hipstamatic’s Mission InstaPak, no lens attachment).

Hope you’ve enjoyed my weekend in review! You can read about my iPhone Wide Angle/Macro and Fisheye Lenses review HERE.

Thanks for dropping by 🙂

In other news….

Our family has been sick off and on since January…no joke. Colds have turned into upper respiratory infections which have turned into Croup and Pneumonia… The doctors appointments have been ENDLESS! I haven’t had any time for submissions or to dress myself properly. So, I’ve had more time for blurfing!!!

Lakewold Gardens {american crafts}

Good Morning Blogosphere!

Thanks for letting me take a day off yesterday 😉 I was ONE busy mama getting back into the swing of things after being so sick for so long! Here’s a layout I designed using some hoarded American Crafts Enchanted papers, some new American Crafts MixTape, a scrap piece of KI Memories ledger paper from the March Studio Calico Kit, and some old Basic Grey June Bug chipboard stickers. Of course the polaroid stamp is Lawn Fawn’s Say Cheese!

Here are some detail shots:

My iPhone 4 has become my go-to camera for all outings! I love my telephoto lens and my instagram app!

Here’s some journaling with a Faber-Castell PITT artist pen, American Crafts Mixtape, and Basic Grey June Bug chipboard stickers as a flower!

I love the cool label shape of the KI Memories paper!

Has Spring made it your way yet?

If not, I sure hope it’s on her way!
